Custom sceneries for countries and regions are available here. The current OSM2City output on TerraSync is from the 1st world build of OSM2City scenery ( forum thread ). in the mountains and with sky/clouds and raining? How does an airport look like, is this imagery edited or are the airports excluded? Is such scenery without models etc. OSM2City scenery buildings, roads, pylons, and other objects, for the whole planet is now on TerraSync, and automatically downloaded by FlightGear 2020.3.7 and later. Did someone ever try to change time, shadows, sunlight, weather and season in such photorealistic images for FlightGear? Is there a technique? How does it look like? Can someone post some examples from a FlightGear-Photo-Scenery-Project? How does it look at night, at dusk vs. Now, I know, there is already some scenery avaiable for FlightGear with photos (and maybe not just with bumped sat-imagery like I link here to). And what happens with my recent favorite place here? Anything used in Flightgear must be under the GPL. I have quite a good experience now with terragear, taxidraw and the like for scenery building. to an image generated by Google Earth I see this in the mountains: Example looking to ground(?) with Google Earth more than 3d.įor a visual to Brest Belarus I probably have to buy new glasses when they don’t provide better images chez Google. Most aerial photography is not available to be used in Flightgear due to licensing restrictions. There is another point I am sometimes wondering about. The focus in this discussion goes mostly in direction of 'license issues' or terragear howto’s. FlightGears night sky features accurate placement and lighting of stars, planets, and the moon. I am guessing this is the reason for lower resolution. Together with the release of Flightgear 3. To be fair, since FG is open source it cant use as much scenery data as other sims because of licensing restrictions. x-plane doesnt have places which look really bad like FG. Or about things 'using Google-Earth' as terrain engine etc. If you know about any FlightGear related news or projects such as for example updated scenery or aircraft, please do feel invited to add such news to the newsletter. While FG has some great scenery regions it has some bad ones as well. I see a lot of discussion here in the forum about 'how to implement' ortho-photos or sat-imagery to the scenery (and it is possible in flightgear, yes, but there are other threads about this).
